any thoughts would be appreciated! i've been wanting to work on a car chase for a bit, and this seemed the time. trying to work on pacing in particular (as well as my auto renders), so hopefully it doesn't get too boring. idunno. i feel like car chases in comics have a difficult time transferring the excitement of the pursuit, as opposed to film for example. well, a challenge!

  1. oh MY! I had no idea this goldmine was lurking here and I loooooooooooves itcan I ask if it's inspired by the Lupin IIIrd castle of cagliostro?

can I say that I really love the way that you've even thumbnailed these pieces using the red to highlight the action?

can I beg that this be in color or at least grayscale? You make a good point about translating animated action into rendered storyboards being difficult to retain the dynamic feel and I'd say that what you have here looks like it does the job quite well.

hot dog that shot on page 4! The old-school look of the cars! The dynamic angles! My goodness I think I've got a case of the vapors

  2. oh so very close on the lupin connection. while i'm sure "castle" had a profound impact on my subconscious, proper credit is due instead to the first episode of the first tv series: "is lupin burning...?!" the copy i found was in italian, but then the fabulous fujiko hardly requires translation.

hee hee! good to hear the thumbs were well received. yeah, the red highlight served to continue the bb red theme as well as hopefully make the thumbs easier to read (trying to get any cinematic criticisms out of the way before laying down pencils).

full color, eh? sounds like another challenge!
